Upcoming
Events
May 10th - Chapter Ride - See The
message from our Road Captain below.
Our upcoming ride this weekend is on
Saturday, May 10th and we are meeting at 9am and leaving
at 9:30am sharp. We are taking a ride down to the Mount
Morris Dam and doing the walking tour. I am told that the
maximum that they can take at one time is 35 people, so
they want us to get there early and sign up. They did
tell me that this is the slow time of year for tours, so
we should be ok. The first tour is at 11am. People who
are interested can go to their website for more
information:
http://www.lrb.usace.army.mil/WhoWeAre/MMD/MMD.html
Please note, this appears on their website: Anyone going
on a dam tour must sign a registration log and provide
identification. Purses, backpacks, cameras, and bulky
jackets will not be allowed inside the dam structure.
Please call the Visitor Center at 585-658-4790 for
more information.
It should be a nice day and an interesting tour. Please
be gassed up and ready to go.
Thanks,
Dennis

Hello all! I'm
writing today to ask a favor of you. Some of you are
professional drivers, some work in towns/village Highway
departments, and some cover a lot of roads in general. I'm
asking those of you who are out there, and notice major
construction projects on those roads, to e-mail or call me and
let me know about it. I try and keep up with what I can on-line,
but it's tough to know where all of the construction is. After
all, our state seems to have 2 season, snow and construction! As
I map the routes to each of our rides this season, I try and
find out if that route has any construction I should know about.
At almost $4 a gallon now, to be honest, I can't afford to run
each of these routes ahead of time.
So I'm asking those of you who notice construction in certain
areas to drop me an e-mail, or give me a call, and let me know
where you saw the construction. I'll try and make sure that we
avoid those areas if at all possible. Just trying to make each
of our rides as fun and safe as possible.
Thanks,
Dennis |
